HELLO, I’M EMMA. I’m a UK book blogger, YA reader, Secondary School Librarian and coffee lover. Welcome to my corner of the internet, Never Judge a Book by its Cover. This blog was established in 2012 to review YA books. Since then it’s become a hub of book recommendations, author interviews, and in 2024 I will be starting my own YA book club. This is a space to share my passion for books specifically Young Adult as you are never too old to read YA! Feel free to say hi online.

These are mine. I think it’s hype and booktok for these for me. I want to start Powerless but something stops me. Same goes for Iron Flame. So excited to read it and just… couldn’t. Six of Crows and ACOSF, it’s been a while… not sure why.

Sometimes hype doesn’t both me but I think it’s a certain book or trope that can.

I can’t recommend this book or author enough. I’m currently reading Adam’s new YA and it’s something else.

Find Me After is just… freaking amazing. It’s different and I love it! I can’t say anything more but if you haven’t picked The Girl Who Broke the Sea please please do.

Do you take part in any book clubs? 📖

I have 2 - my own YA on here @nverjudgeabookclub - which I’m super proud of for starting this year.

Then I also joined my local Waterstones as my lovely friend @kellytalks_ runs which I’ve been too for nearly a year. This one challenges me to read outside of comfort zone and meet other likeminded readers.

This month’s read is This is How You Lose the Time War by @max.gladstone and the next slide are some books I’ve read and loved as part of the club. 🥰

Yes I’m jumping on this trend. This morning I had a lovely time with my morning coffee personalising my kindle. My next read is on my kindle so I thought it’s about time I do it. I also designed a little wallpaper too. 🍂✨

I am more of paperback reader than kindle. But I like the change.
