 My Review

This is my first ever graphic novel review and I think it will be a rare occurrence too. I do actually read quite a few comics in between reading, it just gives me a different perspective to what I love I requested this on Edelweiss never thinking in a million years I would get approved and I did! For the best ever graphic novel too.  I mean Buffy that’s pretty awesome and I was beyond excited. I am a HUGE Buffy Fan, I was a late bloomer to the show but it got me into vampires and dark romance before Twilight did. Team Angel all the way people!!! Anyways when I saw that they were doing a brand new graphic novel series of Buffy, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to read it.

After the series ended it continued in graphic novels and I never really continued them because by the time I finished the series they were already at Season 9! So I was so pleased that they were starting from the beginning- but the highlight of her high school years. It’s great to have the Sunnydale gang back together and even more so with young Willow, Xander and even evil Cordelia too. It wouldn’t be the same without her.

Now to the technical parts of the review… I’m not really sure how to review a graphic novel so I will go with what matters.
Artistic elements – I have to say that I love how they still continue the legend that is Buffy in her shape and form. From what I’ve read of the other seasons they still continue to use the same style of graphics to really convey her bad-assness as well as really continuing the love for the hit TV series that still lives on in people like me and you. 
Storyline – What I loved about this graphic novel in particular it went back to the beginning but not the actually start of how she became the vampire slayer, more the early tales of her job. We still yet to meet Angel which for me will be highlight to relive the seasons that I absolutely adored. Seeing the days of Sunnydale alive again, it just reminded me of the best of my teen years when I first started watching it.
Characters – The last but no mean least the characters…Willow and Xander and even mean Cordelia. It was really great to see them in their glory. Though I have to say I think Willow has a little more style than her full out dorkiness that Cordelia used to always be mean about. Xander being the failing to be funny type but still making it you laugh in spite of it. Oh and the evil vampires trying to live and be the big badass was very funny too.

Overall I absolutely adored rekindling my love for the Buffyverse and all things vampires. It makes me want to get my box set out all over again. I look forward to the next in the series.

    How fun! I remember watching the tv series and loving it! I think I still have a few seasons to watch but it is a fun one.
