Buy – Amazon | Book DepositoryMoving to a new school and making new friends will create enough anxiety for any teenage girl. But when you’re Buffy Summers, a vampire slayer–the Chosen One (with all that entails)–building a new life can be overwhelming. A group of nerdy vampires, shunned by their cooler brethren, decide to climb the vampire social ladder by taking out the Slayer. They play on Buffy’s insecurities, wearing her down until she is full-on distracted by the mental warfare. But in addition to her Watcher, Giles, this Slayer has a couple of new friends, Willow and Xander, to cheer her on . . . except, of course, when they’re not getting along.
Award-winning author Faith Erin Hicks (The Adventures of Superhero Girl) brings the angst, the action, and the cool to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
This is my first ever graphic novel review and I think it will be a rare occurrence too. I do actually read quite a few comics in between reading, it just gives me a different perspective to what I love I requested this on Edelweiss never thinking in a million years I would get approved and I did! For the best ever graphic novel too. I mean Buffy that’s pretty awesome and I was beyond excited. I am a HUGE Buffy Fan, I was a late bloomer to the show but it got me into vampires and dark romance before Twilight did. Team Angel all the way people!!! Anyways when I saw that they were doing a brand new graphic novel series of Buffy, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to read it.
After the series ended it continued in graphic novels and I never really continued them because by the time I finished the series they were already at Season 9! So I was so pleased that they were starting from the beginning- but the highlight of her high school years. It’s great to have the Sunnydale gang back together and even more so with young Willow, Xander and even evil Cordelia too. It wouldn’t be the same without her.
Overall I absolutely adored rekindling my love for the Buffyverse and all things vampires. It makes me want to get my box set out all over again. I look forward to the next in the series.
Awesome! You must check out the Saga series. It's a graphic novel as well, and I'm completely in love with it.
How fun! I remember watching the tv series and loving it! I think I still have a few seasons to watch but it is a fun one.
Aw, I want to read this too! I've got all the DVDs, together with the paperback companions to the show. Joss Whedon is a genius!! Love the review, Emma 🙂
