Happy November my friends!! It’s been a long time hasn’t it and it feels that way to me. I’ve literally been swamped under with this new job of mine but I absolutely love it. I didn’t realise starting a fresh could take such a long time to settle in but like my Head says it’s like moving into a house, it takes you ages to get the place how you want it. Plus I want to make this new library my own and it’s getting there…slowly but surely.
Whilst with the new job I haven’t read much at all it’s taking me 2 weeks to read 1 book and I hate that especially when I’m working in the books I love. But sometimes when I come home I just needed to zone out or binge watch a series rather than read at the mo. What I have read have been some good books and today I read an amazing book which I think has broke the reading funk of mine. So I think with the start of a new term I can finally breathe a little and start doing what I love which is read and blog.
But lately in the last few weeks I have done some awesome things like going to the London Literature Convention at the Southbank where I met my favourite author again, Holly Bourne who is amazing as well as seeing two talks one on How Hard Can Love Be? based on Holly’s book with Femi Martin and Steven Camden – who’s book I really can’t wait to start. He was hilarious at the event. The best part was that it was open to the audience too which I really wished I asked a question or two now. What I loved about it was that I started to jot down bits from it to create a post but I got so entranced by all the authors reactions that it was so amazing to be part of. I also bought far too many books again, which I definitely need to reign in.
And last week I was on a well earned and rested holiday for the entire half term which right now I really do miss. Working in a school makes holidays go super quick don’t they?! We did loads of walking and trails and it felt so good to be away and relaxing. I want to be back there…
So this week I will be catching up on some short reviews of the recent books I’ve read, a Spinster special and I will try and keep to blogging at least once or twice a week if I can. If I’m not always here I do try and update my Instagram @nverjudgeabook regularly so make sure you follow me there and say hello too. Hope your doing all well my lovelies and can’t wait to speak to you all.
Hello Emma!! So happy to hear that you're loving your job so much!!
Congratulations on the new job Emma! Work has really been sucking it out of my reading and tv show time too lately, all I feel like doing when I get back home is sleeping! But I'm glad that you're slowly going to back into the swing of things. And where you went away looks so pretty! I'm glad that you were able to relax for a little while too! 🙂
That's great to see you had a nice time like that!
OMG- you actually ME Holly Bourne? AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm so jealous right now, Emma! I've loved her ever since I read the Spinster Club trilogy- she's BRILLIANT! Hope the new job's not tiring you too much! xx
