Feyre’s survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price …

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre’s presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

***

Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

My Review(s)

So I read A Court of Rose and Thorns last year when A Court of Mist and Fury was coming out and I absolutely loved it! I never reviewed it though, so I thought after finishing ACOFMAF only a few days ago I thought I would do a non-spoiler mash review of both book – with lots of fangirling over two particular High Lords in the book too.
With the release of A Court of Wings and Ruin also by far the most beautiful cover in the series, that I can’t stop stroking it. Haha. I found that hype didn’t matter about this book because you can’t help but be completely submersed by Sarah’s writing and the of the world she creates…Prythian. I don’t know what it is but I found this series of Sarah’s to be here best out of the Throne of Glass series, I found it more beautiful I guess, the worlds with the realm are just dream-like almost, you can find yourself just sitting there reading ACOMAF in the Night Court under the stars, or reading on the balcony of Tarquin’s house in the Summer Court.
What I also loved was the depth of characters we had, Feyre being the obvious choice to be a kick-ass heroine, whether she is mortal or immortal her character never ceases to amaze me with her courage, her strength, her bluntness or her lack of honesty. This is what every female character should resemble because I love her. Plus the fact she has quite a few Fae admired by her, that of Tamlin and then Rhysand. Speaking of the two – I found that I each loved them and hated them at certain times of this series, I can’t confirm nor deny that one of these High Lords is just utterly magnificent in every sense of the word. But let me tell you this – don’t judge a book by it’s cover, this applies to the characters because you’ll be surprised that what’s on the outside is only a shell, a void that cover what they a truly are like. Behind closed doors and secret cities, they become the person they are, and Feyre soon realises this. Feyre, Tamlin and Rhysand aren’t the only the characters that make this series, it’s also The Inner Circle like Mor, Amren, Azriel, Cassian and Lucien. They craft their persona’s through each other and they would always want to be part of their lives, they are family which I found to be beautiful.
Sarah J. Maas is an incredible author that you can’t help but feel entranced by her novels, By the end you feel drained and full of emotions because you know that nothing else will live up to these glorious books. Until the next one…
