A Bookshelf Tour

Hello Book Friends. If your UK bound hope your enjoying you extra day off and enjoying the sunshine. Today I thought I would do something a little different and show you my bookshelves*.

Now as a book blogger or reader it’s not mystery that we are totally overwhelmed with books. We know that eventually the rate in which we receive books with categorically outweigh the space we have available. This is very much my story.

So this is my little corner of my room with books. I think I should call my bookshelves my TBR bookshelves. Most of these books are the ones I need to read. I think we as readers have book acquiring problem, whether with our purse or by email.

Now your probably wondering why there isn’t so many books on my wall bookshelf – because I have so many I worry it won’t take the weight, so this holds my series I need to start or finish which includes currently Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard, The Summoner series by Taran Matharu and the rest of the Throne of Glass series and my copies of Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls.

My bookcube holds so much more than I thought. These again hold all the books I need to read, with my hardbacks at the top and the rest arranged in alphabetical order.

*I put an asterisk next to bookshelves as I really have only that one and the rest are what I call mobile bookshelves. They are known to be the famous book trolley or TBR carts. My pride and joy, they are so colourful to go with my room. They are arranged in rainbow and my most recent ARCs at the top of the coral cart. I love them but I don’t think I can move them much as they laden with books. Ha.

I know so many people love these carts so here’s the link to Hobby Craft where I bought mine. Click Here.

Now you probably wondering where are all the books you’ve read, loved and are you favourites. Well let’s just say I had to improvise so my wardrobe and clothes have been replaced with books. I hate it, I do because I want them out on show but I sadly my room just won’t allow it.

The Future

When I move to my first house which will be in the near future, my plan have always to have a spare room as a library. I will finally get some proper bookshelves. As a librarian I feel obliged to have them in genre/alphabetical order. But in the middle I’d love to feature my favourites shelves or a specific favourite author like Holly Bourne. Maybe even some rainbow shelves. All this is thoughts and plans and I CAN’T wait to have my own little library of my own as well as working in one.

Every reader and Librarian should have a room dedicated to their passion… BOOKS.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

How do you arrange your shelves? Have you done a bookshelf tour, I’d love to see.

  1. I love your TBR cart! It so cute and colorful! Also, do you by chance have a post about how you would arrange your books if you had more space? I would love to read more about it!

Is that something you would like to see? Would you want the librarian version or a reader version! I’d love making one. I might be a bit biased as I’m a librarian which is always alphabetical.

  2. Your shelves look great. I think you made the right choice to not put too many book on your wall shelves, I wouldn’t trust them with too much weight either. I need to get a TBR cart one of these days. Your future home library sounds wonderful.
