My 2025 Bookish Ins and Outs

Posted January 7, 2025 by Emma in Bookish Post, Discussion Post / 2 Comments

Hello my lovely readers, today I’m sharing my book goals of 2025 and what I’m leaving behind and what I’m doing to make it the best reading year.

Since breaking up for Christmas, I have reflected a lot on my reading journey of 2024, and especially as we approached 2025 when I was completely engrossed in reading largely down to Wicked Lovely series but I missed that feeling and I want to make sure that 2025 is the best reading year.

So I have made some choices to make me feel happier about reading and bookish content online. I need goals that are manageable and not too much pressure. I need the hoy to come back. So here are my 2025 outs and ins.

Bookish OUTS of 2025

Reading Goals

I find selecting the number of books you want to read during the year to be quote stress inducing. Not at the beginning when you have the energy and will be on target but then it comes to the middle of the year or the end and rushing to complete it, theres no joy. So I’ve lowered to what I know is easily acheievable and anything extra is a bonus.

Monthly TBRs

These don’t work for me at all. Mood Reading all the way. I will prioritise upcomings ARCs and releases and mood pick from there but no more TBRs. Nope, nada!

Comparing my bookstagram account to others

Specifically for Instagram but I’ve had it with the comparing, look at stats of posts and having a strict scedule of posting becuae it will benfit the algoritym. Nope. It’s back to posting what and when I want. No judgement here.

Reader’s Guilt

I don’t want to feel guilty for not reading a certain book, book trope or certain genre. Reading what I want is the only way. Don’t let the reading society pressure you to read it.

Bookish INS of 2025

Reading Journal

I’m SO excited to start my Quirky Cup Collective reading journal I bought from Paper and Word. I have made reading bullet journals and I just don’t have the capcity or time to keep up with it. Everything is done and it’s soooo pretty. I will do a post showing you the pages as well.

Blog more

Yes, I am going to prioritise this platform more. This for me is where it started, and I’ve been blogging for nearly 13 years now. I need to keep up with it and enjoy it more. I have been planning loads of posts as well. Reviews, interviews and loads more discussions.

Book Buying Mindfullness

I’ve been sort of on a book buying ban at the end of 2024 and I did really well and I feel now I need to be mindful of what I buy, do I need it etc and not just buying books for the sake of it. I want to read more off my bookshelves and not keep adding to it.

Stop, sit down and read for goodness sake woman!

After giving myself time this break to really do this, I need to make sure I carve out time to do this every day. Don’t feel guilty for doing anything and enjoy reading. I loved it and this is what I want to do more of.

What are your bookish goals? Your ins and outs for 2025? Let me know.

Heartstopper Season 3 Review (Spoiler Free) | I can’t stop thinking about it – it’s emotional, it’s raw and it’s beautiful

I’ve been anticipating series 3 since the release of Heartstopper vol 5. I rewatched S1 and S2 in the build up this season and it’s been 1 week since I finished it. And I’m still thinking about it. This series is undoubtedly one of the best book adaptation and the best season of the series. Bottomline is it’s emotional, it’s raw and it’s beautiful. I was (still am as I’m rewatching it, possibly a 3rd time) an emotional mess, I’m still thinking about it so I guess my blog is a way of unpacking those thoughts. I’m in my late […]
