The Sunshine Blogger Award

Posted November 18, 2019 by Emma in Book tag, Random Post / 5 Comments

Hello my bookish friends. I’m starting the week off by catching up with some of the tags/awards that I’ve neglected acknowledge and do on my blog. So thank you to Steph from Booklovereaders who nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. *hugs* If you haven’t checked out her blog then please do, she is amazing and it was from her gorgeous bookstagram that we chatted all things books.

I will be answering the questions that Steph has set for me.

So what is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

How does it work?

• Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
• Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
• Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them  11 new questions.
• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Questions:

1. Standalones or Series?

That is actually a tough question. I automatically want to say series, because I feel that’s the most obvious answer, to constantly live in the same world and always be incredibly excited for the next book even though it will be an extricating wait. But I love a standalone to sort of balance my range of books. With no cliff hangers and just be completely entranced in that book and satisfied by the end. Romance and contemporaries in particular. So Both I think.

2. You can be part of one book what would it be and why?

Twilight. Why because I want to be part of the Cullen family, being a vampire I know. But it was my favourite series when I was a teen and right now I’m binge reading the films. So the nostalgia and fangirling of this series is very real. Although I would be fighting with Bella for Edward, or could would I magically take over Bella’s body?

3. What is your favourite book genre?

Fantasy. If you asked me this a good few years ago I would have said Romance. I was a big contemp fan, it was all I seem to read. But during my blogging, my reading habits and reading genres has changed a lot. Which I love.

4. Do you have a favourite Bookish Character?

Aw. Now that’s a hard one, how can you ask that Steph!? Okay so I’m taking this as a type of bookish character. I love a feminist, feisty and strong main character. Stands up for herself. But then I also love a character who’s shy, struggling to come out of her box and in the book strives to become something more.

5. You go on an adventure and can have three companions who would you pick? (Can be real, fictional, dead or alive)

Diana Bishop from Discovery of Witches, Luna Lovegood and Feyre from ACOTAR!

6. Do you have a favourite shop to buy books from?

Well I buy them from my local Waterstones. But whenever I’m in a new town or on holiday, I will always make sre I buy a book from an independent book shop to support them.

7. Have you been to a book event? If so what one?

I haven’t been to large author lauch events or anything like that. But I have been to YA Shot in Uxbridge that I loved, that was my first big book event. But I’ve also managed a book event from my school as well.

8. Have you ever got star struck when meeting a famous person? Who was it?

Holly Bourne. She was/ is famous to me famous. I a super fan of hers and her books when I was growing up and now have truley meant something to me. So when I went to YA Shot, the main reason was to finally meet her.

9. What is your most anticipated release for 2019.

Always the new Holly Bourne book for me as well as Viper by Bex Hogan.

10. How many books have you read this year?

A terrible 36 books. My Goodreads Goal is 40 so it’s certainly very doable.

11. Kiss, Marry, Kill – ok the characters are… Cardan (Cruel Prince) The Darkling (Grisha) Legolas (LoTR)

Oh no. I only know one character. Kiss – Legolas, Marry  – The Darkling and Kill Cardan! (LOL)I nominate –

And my questions are…

  1. If you could meet your favourite character, what would you say to them?
  2. Do you judge a book by it’s cover?
  3. What was your last 5 star book?
  4. Hyped books, yay or nay?
  5. What bookish world would you visit and why?
  6. If you went to Hogwarts, what would be your favourite lesson?
  7. Has there been a book that has surprised you this year?
  8. Can you name your top 3 books of 2019 so far?
  9. Write your current read in emojis?
  10. What is one book you would recommend to everyone?
  11. Favourite reading season, Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn?
