Book Tag | The Anonymous Bookaholics Tag

Posted September 21, 2020 by Emma in Book tag, Bookish Post / 3 Comments

Happy Monday my lovely bookworms. I’m sorry I didn’t post that much more last week, work got the better of me and I got super tired. But this week I wanted to start off with a fun book tag. I really love doing these and I got tagged by Books Are 42 to do the Anonymous Bookaholics Tag. So here it goes.

1) What do you like about buying new books?

The thought of going into a bookshop to buy a new book is so exciting. Browsing the shelves and smiling when I see my favourites displayed. Buying a book is like home to me, my comfy blanket that is so hard to describe because it’s a part of you even if it does hurt the bank account and finding room for it.

2) How often do you buy new books?

Well, I was on a book buying ban because after lockdown I went a bit nuts. It lasted until yesterday when I bought the new Pages and Co book, I love this series. I lasted 20 days though, not too bad. But not great either. I would probably buy new books every couple of weeks. Or when new upcoming releases are coming out too.

3) Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?

BOOKSTORE without a doubt. Whilst online shopping was amazing during lockdown, there is nothing like walking into a bookstore, surrounded by bookworms and characters that you know and will get to know. It’s basically home to me.

4) Do you have a favourite bookshop?

I wish I had more independent bookstores where I live. But my local bookshop is a Waterstones I have a small one nearest where I live and then a little further a field I have a big one which has recently been refurbished and it has a cafe too. Whenever I go on holiday I always go looking for local and independent books and there is some lovely ones in Penzance and St Ives in Cornwall.

5) Do you pre-order books?

Yes if they have amazing preorder incentives, or special editions or it’s one of my most anticipated that I need it as soon as it’s dispatched. But on average I don’t do it very often at all to be honest, I can wait for a lot of books.

6) Do you have a monthly buying limit?

No, I want to say 8 books as that’s the most I’ve bought recently but I want to always have

7) How big is your wish list?

Okay, so a lot of people have wish lists, but for some reason I don’t. If I took the time to write one I don’t think I would have that many. To be honest I think what would be on my wish list is special editions or hardback editions of my favourite books which I’m saving for when I have a library room of my own.

8) Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?

Home After Dark by Riley Sager

(American Edition) Hardcover of Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

And I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.

I’m tagging

Steph from Bookslovereaders

Sofii from A Book A Thought Blog

Book Tag | My Life in Books Tag

Hello my lovely readers. A new week and a hot one it is in the UK. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I went out on Saturday which was lovely but mighty hot and Sunday I pretty much read all day which I loved. It’s been a long time since I did that without any distractions and just the mind of Edward Cullen to read. Today I thought I would start the week with a book tag, that my friend Steph from Bookslovereaders tagged me in. I’m excited as I haven’t done one in ages and this looks awesome. […]

Happy Friday my fellow bookworms. I’m super excited for the weekend. Guess who has bought her first proper bookcase!? ME! It’s coming on Sunday morning and I’ll be spending the afternoon putting it together. Eeek be prepared for a updated bookshelf tour. 😁 So every Friday, myself and Emily from A Short Book Lover post a weekly feature Let’s Talk Books and we thought we do something a little different, by creating our own book tag with our feature as the main theme. A book tag created by us! I’m so excited as I always wanted to create one and we […]

All About Halloween Book Tag

Happy Halloween my bookish friends! I love this time of year, the nights have drawn in, heating is on, pumpkin is a light and I’m nice and cosy while writing this up. Whilst I don’t trick or treat anymore, I do have some very fond memories of going out on Halloween, I was going to post on top spooky reads, it then sort of turned into a bit of a book tag. I was inspired by Madame Writer, you can find the original post here.  So I hope you enjoy! Fondest Halloween Memory My best friend and I used to […]

Top Ten Tuesday – Places Mentioned In Books That I’d Like to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is becoming a regular feature on my blog and I love it. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies at The Artsy Reader Girl! Each week, a new topic is put into place and bloggers share their top ten accordingly.  This week is all about bookish places that I would love to visit… Some fantasy worlds that of course you need to visit like Prythian and Hogwarts. Then there is the historical places that I wish I could go back in time like Paris in 1700s and Regency London. There is also […]

Top Ten Tuesday – Books I LOVED with Fewer than 2,000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday – Books I LOVED with Fewer than 2,000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies at The Artsy Reader Girl! Each week, a new topic is put into place and bloggers share their top ten accordingly.  This is such a great list… when I saw it I was like how do I know how to find out about the rating rather than going through every book and all I did was select ‘num ratings’ on the settings and voila. I couldn’t believe that so many of my favourites are 2000 ratings… THIS needs to change, these books are amazing… and you NEED to […]
