Hello my bookish friends, hope your all well and had a great bank holiday weekend. Today I’m bringing you another post on my Self-care for Bookworms series. I love creating these posts, and I feel we need these now more than ever. I touched upon this tip in my previous post Self-Care for Bookworms whilst Staying at Home but I can’t believe how much I’ve relied on this.
Today Self-Care tip #4 – Surround yourself with Colour
So if you are follower of my instagram and my blog, (duh) you will notice a common theme. Orange (and Mustard). My entire feed is bright and colourful and I love it! I only really started my bright theme, less than a year ago. I wasn’t fully into the bookstagram community completely, until I changed my theme. I need one that was me and that was it!
I still live at home at the moment, but right now during lockdown I have never been more proud, or thankful for having my room, my bookish haven, and being surrounded by so much colour. On the first weekend of the lockdown, I rearranged my room, I built a desk for me work from home, I moved my books around and I loved how much extra room I had. Every morning when I wake up, It’s brightened my day.
Every time I look at it, or take a picture for my bookstagram it makes me smile, so whether the sun is shining and makes it ever brighter. Or when it’s dull, my room is still shining bright, for me. But it doesn’t just stop there, my clothes, my accessories, bags, and eyeliner is bright. My desk at work (when I go back to it) is bright and I love it. I need it now more than ever! Colour makes you smile in the darkest of times.
I absolutely love your bright orange theme….it just screams JOY!!!! Thanks for brightening my day <3
This is such a great post
Wow I just love the whooole theme of your blog and this post!! It is indeed very colourful, so energetic and so happy!
Orange is such a lovely, happy colour! I’m love whites, but I think I shall put accents of my favourite colours in the cushions or in my bookshelves themselves. That way, there’s still that spark of colour for inspiration every time I need it.
