Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies at The Artsy Reader Girl! Each week, a new topic is put into place and bloggers share their top ten accordingly.
This is such a great list… when I saw it I was like how do I know how to find out about the rating rather than going through every book and all I did was select ‘num ratings’ on the settings and voila. I couldn’t believe that so many of my favourites are 2000 ratings… THIS needs to change, these books are amazing… and you NEED to read them. I tried to do a fantasy version to go with my themed month, but you can imagine that a lot of the titles are veeeery popular. So here are my Top Ten… Please add these to your TBR, pretty please.
The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven – the sequel A Girl Called Shameless is out next month and I can’t wait to read it. I met the lovely Laura at YAShot. Such a brilliant and hardcore book and everyone should get to know Izzy O’Neil.
The Witch’s Kiss by Katherine and Elizabeth Corr – A fantasy series that everyone needs to read. A seamless fantasy written by sisters, the next modern fairytale.
Theatrical by Maggie Harcourt – A beautiful credit to theatres, to falling in love and to being part of a theatre family.
Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes by Holly Bourne – excuse me why is this book and this author uder 2000 ratings? Please rectify this. Thank you.
Kick the Moon by Muhammad Khan – A book that only came out last month but this book needs to be read and heard.
The Exctinction Trails by S.M. Wilson – A series that is unputtadownable, a book that is Hunger Games meets Jurrasic Park but better. The last book has just come out, so I would recommend binge reading them.
Songs About a Girl by Chris Russell – an addictive and rockin’ series that is an absolute joy to read and I miss this series and I miss the band. I read them all during the summer so I would highly recommend for your summer reads this year.
Just Don’t Mention It by Estelle Maskame – Book 4 is the highly addictive bad-bay step sibling romance that you can’t put down. This book is Tyler’s point of view and one not too miss.
A Place Called Perfect by Helena Duggan – as part of being a librarian I’m trying to expand my reading genres and this is a phenomenal if a little scary MG book.
Happy Girl Lucky by Holly Smale – Again another book that has only recently come out – but from the international bestselling author of Geek Girl it’s brilliant. You have to read it. Full review to come.
I’ve been looking at the Helen Duggan ‘Perfect’ books and been tempted, but I keep only coming across the second not the first!! May have to take the plunge and order.
I loved it! I just need to get to the second book soon!
I hadn’t heard of these books before, but I’ll be looking into them! Nice list. 🙂
The exact opposite of okay is on my TBR!! Great list😊
YES! Great choice!
Ohhh I’m adding Theatrical to my TBR now! 💞 Great list!!
Thank you! It’s truly amazing that book! ❤️
I’m intrigued by A Place Called Perfect. my post is here https://wordsandpeace.com/2019/02/19/top-ten-underrated-books/, am another Emma!
It’s great, creepy and such brilliant world building! Hi Emma! 👋
I’ve heard some very good things about The Extinction Trials.
My Top Ten Tuesday post.
Yes it’s amazing! Please read it! ☺️
Hmm I’ve actually heard of The Extinction Trials and was wondering how good it was! I might have to pick this up now!
I haven’t read nor heard of any of these. Thanks so much for the recommendations!!
WOW!! I love all of these covers!! They are so pretty and eye catching!!!
The Exact Opposite of Okay is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a while! One of my favourite books with under 2k ratings has to be John Barrowman’s books – his autobiographies make me so happy and the first book in his middle grade series that he wrote with his sister – Hollow Earth – is so good!
