Meet the Washingtons - the most scandalous royal family ever!

HRH Princess Samantha has always been a royal rebel. She's the spare not the heir, so no one minds too much who she dates or how hard she parties.

It helps that her sister, Princess Beatrice, is literally perfect. She's demure, sweet and beautiful, and she knows that the crown always comes first - no matter what her heart might really want.

But they're not the only ones with their eye on the throne. Daphne Deighton might be 'newly noble' but she won Prince Jefferson's heart once, and she'll do anything to get back into the court's favour - and his bed.

If only she knew that her competition was a common nobody - plain little Nina Gonzalez, the daughter of the king's secretary.

Together these four young women must navigate the drama, gossip, scheming and sizzling romance of the most glorious court in the world. There's everything to play for - but there can only be one queen.

American Royals has everything! Secrets, Scandal, Forbidden Love, Duty and Loyalty. It’s Gossip Girl meets the Royal Family. It’s a delicious book that you can’t get enough of.

Meet the Washington’s, America’s Royal Family. Written 4 POVs, being a royal or with a royal is nothing as it seems. Together America’s Royal Family is anything but normal. Far from it, at the end of the day they sacrifice their freedom, innocence, normality and happiness for the sake of the country.

First we have Her Royal Highness Beatrice. Bea is next in line and the first female monarch to rule America. Her life is planned, which is no surprise, she knows this, but when her father, the King and her mum start to royally match make her, this is when it’s starting to get really serious. What if she has feelings for someone else – with a commoner. But duty comes before love.

Next there’s her sister, Samantha, she has always wanted to be Bea. She is envious of the time and attention she is given and so she acts out and she’s known as the wild royal, especially when she kisses Bea’s future husband in a closet, before the whole match making. She’s feels invisible, everyone else is getting what they want and she doesn’t know where she fits in.

Then we have Nina – an outsider, a commoner and her best friend happens to be Samantha, so she has always been around the royal family. She’s fallen in love with the Prince and Sam’s twin brother. She’s fighting to be true to herself but she also knows that she has to commit to the royal family to be with him. But Daphne, a class A b**** and an ex of Prince Jefferson. She is making sure that nothing stands in her way of her of her tiara and she will stop at nothing to destroy and confront Nina.

Together America’s Royal Family is anything but normal. Far from it, at the end of the day they sacrifice their freedom, innocence, normality and happiness for the sake of the country.

I loved each character in their own way what they brought to the story, even Daphne, she added the cunning nature to the story stirring things up. My favourites are Nina, she’s like me after all, she works in a library and she falls for the guy, not the guy with a title. And Bea, she’s is strong female force in this book, you fall into her whirlwind of romance and duty. I loved the forbidden and swooning over her secret relationship.

As soon as I finished this book I was in desperate need to watch The Princess Diaries films. I loved The Thousandth Floor series and as soon as I turned the page, I realised how much I missed Katharine’s writing. Her style and how she weaves the story between all of the characters flawlessly, how she keeps up with all of the perspectives. She keeps the reader glued to the book, like me.

American Royals is the best Katharine has written. I honestly can’t wait for the next book. Another year. Ahhh. It’s addictive, glamorous and seductive. Your hooked on the glimpses of royal life, an outside looking in and your mesmerised by their story.

Thank you to Penguin Books for sending me a copy in exchange for a honest review.
