Harry Potter Book Night | My Harry Potter Journey

Hello my Wizarding friends. So today is Harry Potter Book Night! I did my event at work yesterday – here’s me in my full Ravenclaw gear! It’s was an exhausting event to host but I honestly love sharing the magic of Harry Potter with my students! As it’s Harry Potter themed I thought I’d would talk about Harry Potter and had grown as an adult.

Happee Birthdae Emma!

I got the first book on my 7th birthday from my aunt! So that’s 18 years ago! I read it and guess how long it to me! A year! 😂 I was mighty proud of myself then to complete such a book in that time! I loved read but at that age I was still exploring genres. I didn’t know what floated my boat! I then started Chamber of Secrets but I got bored a bit!

I did see the films every year like clock work and I loved them. I can remembered buying Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on VHS from WH Smith. It wasn’t until probably after I saw Order of the Phoenix in the cinema that I needed to know what happened so I read Half Blood Prince all the way to the end. I cried when Dumbledore died. I cried quite dramatically as my mum keep telling me and embarrassing me and when I saw it. I knew it was coming but I couldn’t take it

Since the last book came out I haven’t read them since a couple of years ago! I got the Hardback gorgeous set of books for Christmas and I’ve been reading them. Technically some as a reread but I feel as an adult it’s like being reborn into the world of Hogwarts! Going through Platform 9 3/4 and completely awed by the site of the Hogwarts train.

Now…

I’m currently starting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the the first time ever. It’s also apt considering The Triwizard Tournament is the theme to this year’s Harry Potter Book Night!

Harry Potter has a whole new meaning to me! I’ve grown up with it as a child! I feel I’m also growing up with it as adult again. The magic feels more magical as an adult, a chance to escape in the Wizarding world! It’s a world you can dress up and let it be who you are! My job is perfect for it, and I love it! I love love love it.

Always.

When did your journey into Harry Potter start? I’d love to know. Let me know in the comments.
