TODAY MARKS 9 YEARS of my blog and being a book blogger. Honestly where does the time go!? I feel when I get to the 10 year mark it will certainly be a huge milestone for me and my blog. It’s funny but I started this blog 9 years exactly to the day as I started this blog for my Summer Holidays and today is the last day of term! So it curtly feels like an occasion to celebrate and to definley make the most of my blog during the summer once again. I do have an Update post shortly to explain my lack of posts the last few months so please stay tuned for that.

Last year I did a post on the same day with 8 tips of being a book blogger. One of the tips from last years post was…

5. BE OPEN TO DIFFERENT BOOKS AND NEW GENRES…

So today I wanted to do a themed posted tied to the 9 years and its 9 books, 9 favourite books that I read because of my blog. Now this is hard, I mean if I find choosing my top 10 at the end of the year hard, then this is just beyond cruel. But lets give it a short shall we… In no particular order here are

9 Favourite Books I discovered from being a book blogger

Soulmates by Holly Bourne

It comes as no shock to you all that Holly Bourne is on this list. I discovered my favourite author ever because of this blog and I’ve loved, raved, been quoted on several of Holly’s books and I will forever be a fan. This book might have ripped my heart out but I still love ya Holly.

The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent

This was a book I just read this year. I’m trying to widen my reading into the Adult genre this year and I picked this book up, kindly sent to me by the publishers and I couldn’t put it down again. A romance that has howling with laughter and also warm fuzzy feelings of romance.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

A murder mystery series that started a war on Twitter when the publisher ripped out the last pages of the book so we couldn’t know who did it until we email them. I loved it and Holly Jackson’s sequel was even better than the first which I always find is a rarity. The final book is said to be even better. Not long to go now.

The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw

A fantasy standalone, the only standalone that I still remember how atmospheric and totally absorbing this book was. Again a book that I just picked up one day from the publisher and I couldn’t stop reading it. I honestly loved it.

Viper by Bex Hogan

Ahhh a kickass pirate assassin and heroine that travelled the seas. Islands that was inspired by some of my favourite sea coasts like St Ives and just an absolute amazing trilogy by UKYA authors. I think that’s been so important to me I supporting local authors. I still need to read the final book. Eeek.

Kick the Moon by Muhammad Khan

This was a book that I totally fell into and one of those that really started my journey of diverse reads. Muhammads storytelling is addictive and poignant it really gets you in the heart. It was a book that I never really thought to read until I was on the blog tour and I was hooked.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass

One of my most prized possessions is receiving an ARC of A Court of Thorns and Roses and it was the series that I read when it first came out and then reread as more books in the series come out. Now is the most loved series in YA Fantasy.

Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame

Step brother and sister romance. Yes please. Originally published on Wattpad this was a sensational romance trilogy that just got you hooked. With the characters and this whirlwind romance that I’ve read about. I loved it all and fully supported that romance.

After the Fire by Will Hill

This book I have literally thrusted into a work colleague. This book was undeniably one of the most thought provoking, heart pounding and completely unputdownable YA’s that I’ve read in a long time. This book turned heads and it still does. What got me was the how it was loosely based on a true story and I couldn’t believe something would happen like this.

Have you read any of these books? Have you discovered a favourite book from blogging?
