HELLO, I’M EMMA. I’m a UK book blogger, YA reader, Secondary School Librarian and coffee lover. Welcome to my corner of the internet, Never Judge a Book by its Cover. This blog was established in 2012 to review YA books. Since then it’s become a hub of book recommendations, author interviews, and in 2024 I will be starting my own YA book club. This is a space to share my passion for books specifically Young Adult as you are never too old to read YA! Feel free to say hi online.

What early 2025 release are you looking forward to reading? 💛

I’m very very excited to get a copy of @amarasagewrites new YA Girl, Ultra-Processed. Amara’s debut Influential is my favourite books, and one I constantly recommend always. I had the pleasure of meeting her last year at YALC.

Her new YA explores what it is like to be a teenage girl in our current body-obsessed world while juggling family drama, friend dynamics, dating, betrayals and major life changes.

I’m so excited. 🧡

💛 @chaosonolympus revealed the title of her next Pandora retelling
💛I got a couple of proofs.
💛Met up with some lovely bookstagrammers including @_ashortbooklover @breathebleedbooks - thank you for my bracelet @lornareads_ and @librarylooter .
💛Spoke to so many lovely publicists too.

What a weekend. I’m exhausted and I will show you my haul soon. Now I’m resting my feet and shoulders and chilling.

💛Went to a couple of panels - 10 Years at YALC was the best one.

💛Saw @hollybourneya again- it’s becoming an annual event and saw the reveal of her YA book ‘And The We Screamed’
💛and finally @its_raining_fenne

It was a great day and I had so much fun. Also came away with lots of goodies.

Is there a series or sequel you want to continue soon? 📖

Heist Royale the sequel to Thieves Gambit was out on Tuesday and I’m excited to jump back into this thrilling and addictive series. I love the striking covers and this will be my next read after finishing the Overemotional series.

If you love Heartstopper then read these (underrated) YA books… 🍂

I’ve always wanted to start a little recommendation graphic series and inspired by many others on here especially @ridiculusreads - I love hers.

So spent some time yesterday designing this and I love it. There will be many more like this. I started with a comfort read favourite which is Heartstopper. These books have the Heartstopper vibes and I would recommend them all.

Is it out of control because I feel mine is. Well out of control but manageable. Maybe. Or is that an excuse. Or are you in control of it? Is there such a thing? 😂

Next week is YALC and I don’t think it will do anything good to my TBR but I have a budget and book list so let’s see.
