October Monthly Wrap-Up

Posted November 6, 2019 by Emma in Monthly Wrap-Up Post, Wrap-Up / 0 Comments

Hello my bookish friends. It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly wrap-up or in fact updated you on books, blog life in general so here I am. 🧡

The last few months have been crazy busy, ever since term has started it’s been non-stop. I went on holiday down the coast during the half term, much needed that was. The first term is always the longest and hardest so just relaxing, exploring and being a tourist is a nice change, I felt refreshed and ready to face the real world again.

Before holiday I was having some serious thought about reading and blogging in general, if you saw one particular post. From having loads of time for reading books to hardly any. From having time to do bookstagram, blogging and social media everyday to hardly any. I guess if you’ve been reading my blog that things might have got to me a bit. I love my blog, I love having this corner of the internet where I get to talk about what I love. The bookish community are amazing human beings and I’ve met so many whether online on in real life at events. My blog is a part of me and sometimes I need to just take a step back and change how my blog works for me. I’m sharing my passion after all so I want to enjoy it.

So during the last month I’ve been changing what I post, including new features and actually just enjoying reading and blogging different things. So I hope you enjoy it still and stick with me. I’ll start with a new outlook on my monthly posts. This will only be a wrap up and anything on my reading pile will be a new post later this week. 🧡

My October Readings 📖

Books read: 2

It was quote a terrible month in terms of actually reading books, sometimes I worry by not reading enough, or anything like, but you just have to read when you can when you want. It’s not always possible to read all the time. But I wish I could. Whilst that’s worst than my average, they are two 5 star reads! Each so different but incredible. A series finale and my first children’s book.

The Witch of Winter by Katharine Arden | Check out my thoughts in my new feature ‘Emma Chats…Winternight trilogy ‘

Pages & Co: Tilly and the Bookwanders by Anna James | I read this in my half term and absolutely loved it. It was a book I didn’t need to concentrate on by enjoy the sheer pleasure of what reading is all about. AND it’s about books and libraries! A review and interview with Anna to follow soon.

What else? 👜

If you saw on my instagram I was gifted a Gaston Luga bag!? I know, surreal moment when a company says would you like to try our bags out and be a social media influencer. I’m clearly doing something right. Here is me on my holiday, thanks to my boyfriend for being the photographer, enjoying the sun, sea and my new bag. Use BYITSCOVER to get 15% off. Visit their website here for me info and check back with me for a Bag Unhaul post next week.

So that’s my wrap-up of the last month. I hope you enjoy a newer version of this post. Tell me what you read last month? What was your last 5 star read? I’d love to know and chat, so let me know in the comments.
