My Christmas Break & TBR

Hi Everyone, how are we? Are we all on our Christmas holidays yet? I hope you are, you all deserve it! I am and loving it! I broke up onThursday and won’t return to school until the 6th Jan, I think this could potentially be the longest Christmas holiday’s we’ve had. I started it with pretty much cosy days in front of the TV and letting my brain relax. You need that right!? 🎄

One thing I love about Christmas break is family and books. Why you might ask? Well a) I spend a whole week stay with my grandparents. They have no internet, so I take the opportunity to have a break from here and social media just to be with my family and also relax and read loads of books. I can say that throughout the entire year, I read more at Christmas. I tend to read a lot with my Nan as there is nothing on tv generally and I love it!

So with this in mind I will be away from my blog, twitter, instagram for a whole week. To enjoy Christmas and have that much needed break. I will be planning lots of posts offline though like my top reads and reading goals for 202o. Can’t believe it’s nearly 2020. Crazy!

Over the break I will be taking 5 books with me. That’s a lot I know, I don’t plan to read all of them but I love a good choice. So here is my Christmas TBR. 🎄

A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer.

This is my current read at the moment (I’m writing this on Sunday evening) I’m hoping to have this finished by Christmas Eve. I love this series so much and it’s my first ARC of 2020 done as well.

10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston

Well it’s a Christmas and you need a festive romance. Sophie, the MC goes to her grandparents house who sets her up on 10 blind dates.

Throne of Swans by Katharine and Elizabeth Corr

I’m a HUGE fan and have adored the Corr sister’s The Witch’s Kiss series in previous years. I’ve been excited by this for a long time. I can’t wait!

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness

Book 2 of the Discovery of Witches series. I’m not one for binge reading series in one go. I loved book 1 last Christmas and I can’t wait to read Book 2 just before season 2 of the TV series releases.

Harry Potter and Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Well if you’ve seen my Instagram posts, you’ll know that I’m rereading the series. Ever since I got the hardbacks for christmas I want to reread them since I read (most of) them as a child. I missed out last year, so I’m continuing my reread with book 2.

So all there is left for me to say is I hope all you lovely readers have an amazing Christmas and restful break. I will be back next week for top ten and yearly round-ups.

  1. I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series as well! It’s strange re-reading as an adult, you tend to forget how much is omitted from the films.

    Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

  2. Sometimes it’s just really nice to disconnect from being connected all the time 🙂 I hope that you have a fantastic Christmas break and enjoy your reading and family time! Happy holidays 🎄
