Hey Everyone, it’s been a while again. I’m currently on my half term after one really busy first term of the academic. My goodness, that was a long one. But I’m survived, I’m here.
Now, I’m living for the autumn, cosy vibes that this week and a bit off will bring including some spooky books I can’t wait to read. In a way I’ve set myself quite the pile of books but I’m joining the Spookathon that Booksnest is hosting this week on her patreon and I can’t wait!
I would love to know what yours would be. Let me know in the comments. Also thank you to all the publishers who have sent me these copies. So without further ado here are my book recommendations…
My 5 books I can’t wait to read this cosy, spooky season 🎃
Twelve Bones by Rosie Talbot
I’m so excited to read the sequel to Sixteen Souls. It will be great to be reunited with Charlie and Sam in their next adventure.
But when a new threat lurks in the shadows, this time to the living, and all who Charlie and Sam hold near, they must put everything on the line – including their lives – to work out who is behind it. And even then, it may not be enough!
Wise Creatures by Deirdre Sullivan
I was very lucky to receive this book in a Hot Key Books event goodie bag and this is one of 3 books I hope to read this week. I mean look at the cover it’s giving creepy vibes.
I always thought that hauntings began with houses. They don’t, of course. It’s people, isn’t it? It starts with people.
Suddenly a Murder by Lauren Muñoz
I love a good murder mystery and especially love it even more in autumn.
This is giving me YA vibes of Knives Out and I loved that movie.
Everyone has a secret. Everyone has a motive. But only one of them brought a knife to the party . . .
I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast is Me by Jamison Shea
The cover and the vibes radiating from it. I’m very excited for this. It’s a queer YA debut from Jamison Shea too.
There will be blood.
Ace of Spades meets House of Hollow in this villain origin story.
The Skeleton Key by Erin Kelly
This one is the odd one out as it’s not YA and the biggest book of the bunch. But this is my October Book club pick and I know I will love this. It’s a gothic, atmospheric thriller and I’m here for it.
A thriller about a decades-old literary treasure hunt and the sinister passions and obsessions that are reignited when a cult mystery picture book is reissued.
What spooky books are you looking forward to reading leading up to Halloween?
Happy Weekend my lovely readers. It’s been a week since my last post – [Insert post] – it’s been quite a busy week at work and lots of travel disruptuon as well so I’ve been getting home pretty late and super tired. I can’t believe I haven’t done one but I think it’s largely down to not reading much at all and I felt it wasn’t worth it. As you can see from the title of my post […]

Hello my lovely readers, how has your week been? Honestly I feel like time is going so fast and each day is blurring into one. Anyone else feeling like this?! But I’m thankful fo my books and blog to keep me sane at the moment. They are a life saver. Today I have another Booked-In Top 5 post, I’m rather enjoying these. One of the many things that has surprised to say the least is that during lockdown I seem to be reading old books of my TBR. Whilst I do have some ARCS, I feel quite proud for every […]
Hello my bookish friends, I’m on half term! Yay! I’m so looking forward to catching up on my reading – especially a book that I’ve been reading for 2 weeks. Hi Everyone, how are we? Are we all on our Christmas holidays yet? I hope you are, you all deserve it! I am and loving it! I broke up onThursday and won’t return to school until the 6th Jan, I think this could potentially be the longest Christmas holiday’s we’ve had. I started it with pretty much cosy days in front of the TV and letting my brain relax. You need that right!? 🎄 One thing I love about Christmas break is family and books. Why you might ask? Well a) I spend a whole week stay with my grandparents. […]
