My Bookish Room | A Tour

Happy Monday my lovely book friends! Today I’m really excited by this post. I’ve wanted to show off my updated room/shelves for a while. Over lockdown I’ve been doing some room improvements I guess. To fit with working from home but also making my room more of a sanctuary to relax in.

Last year I shared a bookshelf tour here. With my famous TBR carts, cube bookshelf and wall shelf. Since then I’ve made some changes. I wanted a change, I felt inspired to make a small room as bookish as possible. Oh and it’s very very bright too which makes me very happy.

New desk and bookcase

Working from home and I had no desk really. I had a table which was where I did my make-up etc but it was a waste of space. So having a small room, I have to be clever with what I can fit in there. I found this cute ladder desk with shelves which is perfect for my MacBook and adding make-up in the draw. Best of both worlds! I added my upcoming ARCs on the second shelf it was perfect. I added the cube shelf to the side which I then reorganised by size order paperbacks to get the most out it. I also complimented it with a mustard chair and bee cushion.

New Bookcase

I wanted to change my wall shelf but it’s been there for a very long time. So I started to look at a bookcase instead. This has a couple of drawers which was perfect for my bedside cabinet type things. I added a light in the corner too. I was finally able to organise into a proper rainbow bookcase, with my hardbacks at the bottom. I am in love with it, I can’t help looking at it. 😍

New TBR Cart

So before I had a grey TBR cart and then Hobby Craft brought out some gorgeous colours. So I bought a mint green one. This really doesn’t have an order, other than my other hardback and big paperbacks at the bottom and the rest of my TBR.

I know so many people love these carts so here’s the link to Hobby Craft where I bought mine. Click Here.

New Reading Nook

This I completed last week. I’ve always wanted a reading chair, I can’t read in bed as I will fall asleep a lot! 😅 So I saw this chair on my travels in Homebase and it was perfect and it’s mustard too!!! Of course, what else. Every night I will sit in it for a least 2 hours reading and I honestly love it. I then added the matching footstool which has storage for more books. It’s making me productive with reading. I can’t wait to finish Five Little Liars tonight!!

My room literally is my bookish sanctuary, and the best to can be at the moment until I can get that spare room/library room when I get my first house which I hope will be in the near future. I can’t wait for that and finally be able to shelve my favourite books alongside author feature shelves too.

Every reader and Librarian should have a room dedicated to their passion… BOOKS.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

How do you arrange your shelves? Have you done a bookshelf tour, I’d love to see.
