Happy Monday my lovely bookworms. I’m sorry I didn’t post that much more last week, work got the better of me and I got super tired. But this week I wanted to start off with a fun book tag. I really love doing these and I got tagged by Books Are 42 to do the Anonymous Bookaholics Tag. So here it goes.
1) What do you like about buying new books?
The thought of going into a bookshop to buy a new book is so exciting. Browsing the shelves and smiling when I see my favourites displayed. Buying a book is like home to me, my comfy blanket that is so hard to describe because it’s a part of you even if it does hurt the bank account and finding room for it.
2) How often do you buy new books?
Well, I was on a book buying ban because after lockdown I went a bit nuts. It lasted until yesterday when I bought the new Pages and Co book, I love this series. I lasted 20 days though, not too bad. But not great either. I would probably buy new books every couple of weeks. Or when new upcoming releases are coming out too.
3) Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?
BOOKSTORE without a doubt. Whilst online shopping was amazing during lockdown, there is nothing like walking into a bookstore, surrounded by bookworms and characters that you know and will get to know. It’s basically home to me.
4) Do you have a favourite bookshop?
I wish I had more independent bookstores where I live. But my local bookshop is a Waterstones I have a small one nearest where I live and then a little further a field I have a big one which has recently been refurbished and it has a cafe too. Whenever I go on holiday I always go looking for local and independent books and there is some lovely ones in Penzance and St Ives in Cornwall.
5) Do you pre-order books?
Yes if they have amazing preorder incentives, or special editions or it’s one of my most anticipated that I need it as soon as it’s dispatched. But on average I don’t do it very often at all to be honest, I can wait for a lot of books.
6) Do you have a monthly buying limit?
No, I want to say 8 books as that’s the most I’ve bought recently but I want to always have
7) How big is your wish list?
Okay, so a lot of people have wish lists, but for some reason I don’t. If I took the time to write one I don’t think I would have that many. To be honest I think what would be on my wish list is special editions or hardback editions of my favourite books which I’m saving for when I have a library room of my own.
8) Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?
Home After Dark by Riley Sager
(American Edition) Hardcover of Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
And I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.
I’m tagging

browsing at a bookstore is definitely the best part of book buying. being surrounded by physical books and the smell of papers, and sometimes even striking a conversation with fellow bookworms- it’s just amazing and this quarantine made me realize how much i love it.
Thank you so much for tagging me, Emma!!! I love reading your aswers, I’m trying to catch up on my tags, so I hope to do it soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️✨✨
Loved reading your answers, I agree with so many of them!! It’s definitely a wonderful feeling to just saunter into a book nook, grab a book and a little pastry, and settle down to read in the corner. Haha I have a lot of books I want to have in my hands right now, be it physical or online, the wait can be agonizing 😅 have a wonderful rest of your month!!
