August Monthly Wrap-Up – The ‘It’s been a while’ edition!

Posted September 14, 2020 by Emma in Bookish Post, Monthly Wrap-Up Post, Wrap-Up / 7 Comments

Helllllllloooooooo everyone. I haven’t been around, how are we all? I’ve missed you and posting on my blog. It’s been nearly

over 3 weeks since I last posted. The reason mainly was work. I’m back to working as a school librarian after 6 months off, the constant thinking and over thinking was certainly draining and I just wanted to read and not blog. I found it difficult as I lacked the inspiration and brain power to come up or start writing some posts. BUT I’M BACK!!

So this will be a month and half worth of a wrap-up post, including all of August and some updates of September. (Not there is much update to be fair) I can certainly tell you what I’m reading as I am reading 2 books at the same time which is unheard of.  The reason I guess I’m back now is that I’ve got some exciting author related content coming up as well as a few blog tours. So I didn’t want to drop in with all that and not have an official post of my return to the blogging world. So without further ado let wrap up August…

TOP 3 FAVOURITE POSTS 👩🏼‍💻

My Life in Book Book Tag | I was tagged and I really enjoyed taking part.

Review – Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer | My most anticipated book of August that lived up to my expectation and fangirling too. It was so good to be back in the world of Twilight.

Blog Tour – Boy Queen by George Lester – I absolutely loved this book, I couldn’t put it down.

TOP 3 BOOKSTAGRAMS 📷

I reached 10K in August and I’m so so proud. Can you believe I was only at 3K in October. Thank you so much to everyone who follows me.

MY AUGUST READINGS 📖

So my month wasn’t too bad of reading considering I read 768 pages of Midnight Sun in a week. That was an achievement for me considering I can only get through 1 averaged page book in a week. So I did a lot of reading and loved it. Sadly The Starless Sea is on pause for me, considering I just wasn’t in the mood for it. So in a way it’s DNFd.

Boy Queen by George Lester – 5 stars | Review

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer – 5 stars | Review

The Starless Sea by Erin Morganstein | Sort of DNF

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron – 3.5/4 stars | Review to come

Currently Reading 📚

So I’ve been rereading Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness with a group of lovely bookstagrammers. We’ve also set a photo challenge up which has been amazing. I’m loving it, it’s a comfort read and exactly what I need when I’m at work. I’m also reading a second book, which I never do which is The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Two totally different books, and you know what I’m coping with reading more than one book. I didn’t know I was going to be one those people but this could be the way to more reading.

SO THAT’S MY MONTH AND HALF WRAP-UP! TELL ME WHAT YOU READ LAST MONTH? WHAT WAS YOUR LAST 5 STAR READ? I’D LOVE TO KNOW AND CHAT, SO LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

  1. I have a hold on Midnight Sun at the library and I can’t wait to read it!! So glad it met all your expectations! I’ve seen so many positive reviews for it and that has me super stoked! I just added Boy Queen to my TBR.

  2. All of your posts about Midnight Sun just make me more excited to read it! I’m putting it off until I have the money to get a copy (and donate to the Quileute Tribe at the same time) but I’m glad you enjoyed it and featured it in this post!!
