IMG_0168Hello Book Friends, 1st of June and I’m on a roll with my wrap-up post this month. The last week I’ve been on half-term, I’ve been reading but not that much in the mood for blogging. As it’s now coming to an end I’m sceduling reviews left right and center, before I’m crazy busy at work for our last half -term of the school year. I have to say working in a school makes the year goes uber quick – if there are people reading this and your education are you like me that goes “Only 6 and half weeks left till the next holiday.” and that’s on the first day back.

In terms of reading this month it’s been a pretty steady month… not outstanding but still a great month of cracking reads. It’s also been a month of blog tours and new discussion series as well, which I will be continuing with various topics this month. Anything you would like to see – let me know.

Book of the Month

Jemima Small has made me realise a lot of things about myself and I fell in love with all the body positivity and identity messages and loving yourself. So without a doubt this has to be my book of the month even though this beauty of a book isn’t out until July. Sorry folks. Make sure you pre-order though.

Books Received this Month – Thank you lovely publishers.

A nice collection this month, although to make up for it the last couple of days I did buy a couple of extras, thus forgoing by book buying ban. I’m on blog tour for Nexus which I can’t wait for as I loved Zenith last year. Eve Ainworth has written a short story for Barrington Stoke which looks amazing, as a librarian to a girls school they love all of Eve’s book and I think after I’m finished this will go down a treat. I was very lucky to be gifted the new book from The Boy & Girl Who Broke the World. Today I also just recived a new collection of The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black – all of which I haven’t read. This will be a book for the bedside inbetween my other books.

Books Bought – Oops

This has been my haul over the past 2 days. Oops. Birthday by Meredith Russo – the gorgeous sprayed edges and it sounds amazing. Wicked Saints, I’ve seen this around a lot and I’m very much into my fantasy at the moment. I saw this in a big Waterstones and couldn’t resist. More of Me, after Beauty Sleep I wanted to read Kathryn’s debut and finally – I’m currently reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and loving it so I had to get the sequel.

May TBR

I’m going to try at not really sticking to a TBR as I feel I get bogged down with them, I will read the books for my blog tours but I will suprose myself with others I think. Like how this week I wanted a break and I’m reading and loving A Darker Shade of Magic. I think it really lens perspective and makes you fall in love with reading again if your in that bit of a mood. Like I am these days.

Have a great June!

  1. I love the cover for The Girl in the Red, it’s awesome! I’ve just been figuring out my wrap up post because I feel like I’ve had a good reading month and can’t remember what I’ve actually been reading, oops. Ah, nothing wrong with a book haul even if that wasn’t the intention. Sounds lie you’re pretty organised for the next half term now – good luck!
