My Top 5 Favourite Books of 2020 so far – the year of sequels and debuts!

Hello my lovely readers, so it’s July, over half way throughout the year. It certainly hasn’t been a great start to 2020 with the current situation but that hasn’t stopped me from reading. If anything it’s what I needed, books to escape into away from this reality. I’ve read some amazing books and I’m not the quickest of readers so rather than list loads, I thought I would list my top 5 from the beginning of 2020. So let’s forget the world right now and focus on my favourite books of the year so far especially during Booked-In. Top 5 […]

ARC Book Review | Thorn by Intisar Khanini

So shall I start this review by saying it’s THE BEST YA FANTASY BOOK I’VE READ THIS YEAR! That’s on hell of a line to start off with but it’s true. I wasn’t expecting it, I admit, a complete surprise by Intisar’s debut novel is just phenomenal! It has everything and more in a fantasy and I honestly can’t wait to talk about it more. My Review Princess Alyrra is a pawn in her own future, she is known as for her brutal honesty and her mother hates it. The cruelty between her brother and her mother, she doesn’t stand […]

BLOG TOUR | REVIEW – Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends. Today I’m really excited to be part of the blog tour for Harley in the Sky. It’s one of my most anticipated reads this year. I discovered Akemi last year and she’s on my auto-buy/read list ever since. The only book I haven’t read is Starfish which I think will do sooner rather than later. My post is a review but before that here is a little bit more about the book. (Just on a side note, I haven’t totally finished the book yet due to work craziness last week with Ofsted so my reading […]

Book Review | A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

Hi Everyone, Happy Monday it’s been a while since I last written a review, I think I’ve got a bit rusty. I have to admit something as well…I read this back at the end of May and I’m only reviewing it now. But the amazing thing about this book is that I still remember it. Doesn’t that tell you something?! I hope you enjoy my review and let me know if you’ve read it or any amazing murder mysteries I should read.  So I’m going to admit something here. I read this back at the end of May and I’m […]

Review – The Places I’ve Cried in Public by Holly Bourne

Content warnings – Abuse, unhealthy relationships  This is her tenth YA book and Holly Bourne isn’t Queen of YA for nothing! It taken me a while to really put this book into words. If you saw my tweets when reading this book you will understand that this book pretty much ripped me apart. There was snot, I’m happy to admit that. When you read this book, please have a box of tissues with you, you will need them. I promise you that.  Amelie starts 6th Form completely alone and straight into the unknown, but she still has herself, her cardigans […]

Blog Tour – Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman

Blog Tour – Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman

Today I’m so excited to be part of Summer Bird Blue blog tour. This is my first book by Akemi and I absolutely adored it. It’s an emotional but beautiful book, about love, sisters, grief, friendship, support and family. Before I get to my review, here is a little bit more about the book. Rumi Seto spends a lot of time worrying she doesn’t have the answers to everything. What to eat, where to go, whom to love. But there is one thing she is absolutely sure of—she wants to spend the rest of her life writing music with her […]
