Happy August my friends! I can’t believe how quickly this year is going and I’m on my summer holidays so I know that it will fly by – it always does then we’ll be in September and talking about Christmas very soon.
The last time I did a wrap up post it was April and I said I had the best reading month. Well I’ve beaten that and I’m so happy. I think with the horrible UK heatwave a few weeks ago, all I did was read as I was too hot to sleep.
I would also say that this is the most diverse reading month I’ve had and I’ve loved discovering all of these #ownvoice YA books. I’m also continuing this into August as well.
In other news, on my Instagram I have launched a new hashtag called #foreverreadingya – head over to my bookstagram for more info but I will be doing a post on that in the next couple of days.
So shall we get onto my wrap of July? I think so.
JULY READS
My Favourite Book of the Month
Only on the Weekends by Dean Atta
I won’t say much about this book as I do want to do a book review this week for it as there is some much to say.
I absolutely adored this book so much. It was my first YA verse novel, a new concept to writing a book and it delivered well. I been it brings such a poetic and lyrical storytelling to the book and I devoured it. I just couldn’t stop reading, made the cute romance set in Scotland a whole new atmosphere.
Fans of Heartstopper will love it!
ON THE BLOG THIS MONTH
Not much has been happening on the blog with end of term and beginning of summer holidays craziness. But here are my most recent posts.
Series Review – Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
5 Reasons to read The Battalion of the Dead by Kat Dunn
Debut YA Spotlight – The King of the Dead by Benjamin Dean
TOP 3 BOOKSTAGRAMS
I’ve kind of had an epiphany any on my bookstagram – I wasn’t being true to myself with the books I love and my heart will always be YA books, you know that as a YA blogger and it seems that Romance or Booktok books are becoming very popular at the moment and as a librarian, bookworm and blogger I was to promote the books I’m loving – so I’ve changed the theme a little. So here are my favourites.
LAST, NOW, NEXT – AT SOME POINT IN AUGUST…
NEW – WHAT MADE ME HAPPY IN JULY…
It’s always important to reflect on what makes you happy. I think for it was finishing the term, I also got two new promotions in my job as well. Which I’m really excited to start in September. But to be honest I’m just living my best life right and I’m loving it!
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, THAT’S MY JULY WRAP UP. HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT. TELL ME WHAT BOOK YOU ENJOYED IN JULY!?
