Hello Book Friends. It’s been 2 months since my last wrap-up post. Work has been manic, but August is finally here, how has everyone faired with the heat last week, unbearable wasn’t it. I was reading to pretty early each morning because of it. I’m on my summer holidays and I’m on holiday tomorrow. Yay! So I’m now trying to figure out what books I want to take away with me. That always takes more time than the actual packing. I feel my absence has got noticed because of work, so I’m trying to catch up on reviews and posts over the summer. So be excited to see a full schedule of posts. I’m excited! Last month towards the end I took part in my first readathon – Reading Rush and that really helped. I read 3 books in week which for me is pretty good.

An Update

MY BLOG TURNED 7 LAST MONTH! I forgot about it! *cries* but although I’ve only been on WordPress since January this blog has been going for so much longer and the move has made this blog more permanent to me, it’s a part of me and I’m indebted to how much it’s done for me, authors, publishers and blogger you’ve all be amazing!

The last couple of months I’ve also been focusing of updating my blog with new features. One exciting one will be – A Day in the Life of a Librarian. (Name TBC) which I’m really excited to share my tips, my experiences of every day life in my job as a school librarian. I also have loads of random bookish posts that I’m going to doing as well. So stay tuned. I can’t wait to experiment with other types of posts. My blog has been

I’ve also been working really hard on my Instagram lately finding my theme, which is full of colour. The response and engagement has been amazing so thank you so much. I’m very proud of it at the moment and thank you for liking it and recognising it.

Books Read this Month

4 is not bad for me. It really helped that I took part in the Reading Rush. My first one and I loved the sprints and challenges they really helped. Unfortunately I can’t pick for book of the month because as you can see, they are all outstanding. I loved them all in their different ways.

The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg – 5/5 | Review

Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan – 5/5 | Review

What Magic is This? by Holly Bourne – 5/5 | Review

The Sharp Edge of a Snowflake by Sif Sigmarsdóttir – 5/5 | Review

I’ve received quite a few books from the last time I did a wrap-up so here is a list of the the books I’ve received in the last couple of weeks. I’ve had some amazing books sent to me over the last couple of months. Ever since I read To Kill a Kingdom and hearing a sneak peak of her next book at an event I can’t wait to read her new book out in October, Into the Crooked Place. Unleashed is the sequel to Jinxed which was one of my favourite reads last year. I won a copy of Under the Dancing Star and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Laura Wood’s books. The one adult author I’ve read every year is Riley Sager he writes such griping and dark thrillers – I love them. Then we have The Bone Garden that looks positively haunting – can’t wait and finally See All the Stars by Kit Frick, earlier this year her debut All Eyes on Us came out and I can’t wait to read both.

August TBR

I’m taking part in ARC August. All of the books I plan to read are ARCs. So let’s kill two birds with one stone. Earlier this week I did a post on my summer reading. That is my August TBR. I want to read as many as I can in the 4 weeks left to make a dent in my ver growing TBR.

HAVE A GREAT AUGUST!

DO YOU HAVE A WRAP-UP POST? OR LOOKING FORWARD TO ANY OF THESE BOOKS? WHAT’S ON YOUR TBR THIS MONTH? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

  1. I’m super duper excited for Into the Crooked Place! I really really liked her first book and this sounds like something that could be real’ good and cool and just all kinds of badass. The cover of The Bone Garden caught my interest immediately! It’s very atmospheric and kinda eerie and even a little creepy and all kinds of good stuff. I should check out another book from Riley Sager soonish but I can’t quite decide if I should go with The Last Time I Lied or Lock Every Door — both sound good, sigh. PS: congrats on reading 4 5-Stars books! c: Happy reading!
