Happy Weekend my lovely readers. It’s been a week since my last post – [Insert post] – it’s been quite a busy week at work and lots of travel disruptuon as well so I’ve been getting home pretty late and super tired. But I’m here today and that’s the main thing.

Today I’m bringing you my first (oh dear) wrap up of the 2022! I can’t believe I haven’t done one but I think it’s largely down to not reading much at all and I felt it wasn’t worth it.

As you can see from the title of my post – this has been the best reading month and basically that is purely down to being off for 2 weeks for Easter Holidays. (This is why I love working in a school, but you are always counting down to the next holiday though so your life just rushes away from you.) I didn’t read loads but in comparison to the rest of the year, it’s the best. Now I’m back to work, I’m reading less which is such a pain considering I’m a Librarian.

So in light of starting my blog again, I thought I would revamp my monthly wrap-up post so I hope you enjoy it.

April Reads

My favourite book of the month

Nova’s Blade by Will SciFi

Nova’s Blade by Will Scifi is my first self publsihed book in a long time and I absolutely loved it! – I was hooked from page one! Basically if you love the following books and shows this is for you! Hunger Games, Squid Games, Matrix and Divergent!

Set in a dystopian world, Nova lives with her Ill mother and her sister! She works to provide for her family and her mums medical bills. Until she looses her job she find herself lost, in the middle of the night she is abducted by the live tournament show called Last Valkyrie- 32 women, one battle arena and only one survivors!

It’s brutal, it’s bloody, it’s violent, relationships and friendships torn apart, politics challenging her very existence! Nova’s world has fallen apart and they only way to survive is to fight to the death!

I can’t wait for book 2!

On the blog this month – my return and new design!

As well as my return to blogging, I also redesigned my header for the gazillonth time and I LOVE IT so much. It reflects me, who I am and my home library too.

If you didn’t know I’m also on Bookstagram and with everything else, I’m really happy about my feed and how bright and cheerful it makes me. So I thought I would share my favourite posts. Not the most liked one, becuase it’s not about that, it’s about sharing your love for books!

Last, Now, Next – at some point in May…

So this is something new, I don’t set TBRs anymore – I don’t stick to them and I currently feel that I’m forced to read it. So here is what I’m reading and what might be my next book…

My two current reads alongside my most recent bookmail that I’m so so so excited to read that I’m going to read it ASAP!

NEW – What made me happy in April…

I wanted to add this, to add a personal touch really. My blog is a happy place to be, so why not! Spring has arrived which automatically makes me happy, sun, warmth just brings sheer joy to my day! I think the best thing that made me happy was doing my first tax return for my business, Marina Marketing. It was daunting but an extremly proud moment and in a few days I will be doing my lil business for 1 whole year. Where has the time gone.

So there you have it, that’s my April Wrap Up. Hope you enjoyed it. Tell me what book you enjoyed in April!?

  1. I feel you on not reading a lot; I read nothing for the majority of February and March. It’s as if my reading comes in spurts: all the books for a few weeks and then literally nothing for more weeks.

I recently read and adored Hotel Magnifique! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I love the “what makes me happy” addition at the bottom of the post!
